NC Beauty Care and Make-up, NC Beauty Care, NC Make-up Artistry SCQF levels 5 and 6
The National Certificates (NCs) at SCQF levels 5 and 6 in Beauty Care and Make-up, Beauty Care, and Make-up Artistry, are designed to equip candidates with the knowledge, understanding and skills required for further study or to gain employment at a junior level. The NCs develop basic skills and focus on practical activities carried out in a realistic work environment. Candidates can go on to build on these skills through employment and, whilst in employment, continue to study with SVQs.
These NCs are widely available in colleges.

How to assess
Assessment Support Packs (ASPs) are available for selected Units and can be found on SQA's secure website.

Successful candidates will be in a better position for a career in the sector.
Access
Entry is at the discretion of the centre. However, it would be an advantage to hold the NPA in Cosmetology at SCQF level 4. A genuine interest in beauty care and make-up is desirable.
