This award recognises candidates in employment, or with training organisations, who have achieved SQA qualifications and can show how qualifications have broadened their knowledge, contributed to their personal development, or benefited the local community.
Thomas joined Loretto in February 2007 as a part-time support assistant. In 2009 he achieved his SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (Adults). The knowledge and experience he gained in his SVQ enabled Thomas to make recommendations to Loretto’s Management Committee about Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) training in the organisation.
Thomas underwent training to become a WRAP facilitator for Loretto, and he is now involved in developing and delivering WRAP training in the organisation. Thomas also does a lot of voluntary work, and is a great contributor in his local community. He continues to be motivated to assist and support others formally and as a volunteer.
