National Qualifications Support Teams (NQSTs) have been set up to ensure the continuous improvement of SQA’s National Qualifications, and to exemplify national standards.
NQSTs use subject specific, secure online forums that will include relevant SQA qualifications staff, teachers, lecturers and industry professionals. A key aim of the NQSTs is to monitor, evaluate and communicate issues arising from the delivery, assessment and verification of qualifications.

We recently carried out a review of the Assessment Panels (APs) and found that they are no longer the most effective way to obtain stakeholders views on qualification content and assessment.
With this in mind, Assessment Panels have therefore been withdrawn.
The introduction of National Qualifications Support Teams (NQSTs), using electronic forums, allows us to minimise the resources required by SQA and participants.
