PORTFOLIO REVIEW CONSULTATION

Portfolio Review Consultation

The Scottish Qualifications Authority is carrying out a review of its portfolio of qualifications as a result of feedback received from stakeholders.  This feedback suggests that while some aspects of the qualification portfolio work well, others do not meet the needs of candidates, centres or employers.  In carrying out this review we are aiming to:

  • tidy up some of the anomalies in the current system
  • make qualifications easier for users to understand
  • clarify progression routes through the system
  • review the design of some qualifications to increase the coherence of the qualifications while retaining the flexibility of the current system

How you can get involved

The main consultation activities will be a series of focus group events which will be held during November 2004.

We welcome your comments on some or all aspects of the proposals concerning:

  • the future shape of SQA's portfolio
  • new practical Courses
  • National Certificates
  • Scottish Progression Awards
  • Professional Development Awards

Please send your comments to Lena Gray, NQ Review Project Manager (e-mail: lena.gray@sqa.org.uk, telephone: 0141-242 2317).  Please note, that the closing date for your comments is Monday 29 November.
