Media Studies
Media Studies examines the central role played in the modern world by the media. It looks at how the media affect society at all levels: economic, political, social, cultural and individual. Learners develop critical understanding and appreciation of the media and media products, as well as practical skills in media technology.

National Progression Awards (NPAs)
The following four NPAs will be available to centres from 1st August 2010.
- G9MA 45 - Digital Production Skills (SCQF level 5)
- G9MD 45 - Radio Broadcasting (SCQF level 5)
- G9ME 45 - Television Production (SCQF level 5)
- G9MC 46 - Journalism (SCQF level 6)
