Jean Fowler left school at the age of 15 with limited qualifications after having to repeat a year due to ill health. After many years out of education, Jean decided to pursue a lifelong ambition by enrolling on a short course at college in Press and Magazine Journalism to develop her creative writing skills. She then went on to complete an HNC in Communication and, as well as graduating, she was also given the student of the Year award. Jean’s story shows that it is never too late to learn and there are opportunities for everyone, no matter their age or educational background. |
