Literacy and Numeracy: CfE Management Board Update
The HN Key Partners Group was reconstituted in 2009. The reconstituted group's purpose is to act as an intelligence group, with major agencies sharing information.
Since the launch of the Adult ESOL Strategy for Scotland in 2007, SQA has been developing a suite of TESOL qualifications to provide professional development for ESOL practitioners in Scotland, in line with the Strategy's aspiration of 'a fully professional workforce with recognised career structures' and its recognition that 'ESOL practitioners need to show knowledge, technical competence, and expertise at a level consistent with effective programme delivery.'
We are pleased to introduce the Higher National (HN) and Professional Development Award (PDA) Annual Report for session 2011-12. The report provides details on various development work in HN and PDAs, and is aimed at SQA Co-ordinators and practitioners in Scotland's colleges.
This catalogue listed all Higher National Units, including Graded Units. It included both consortium-developed Units (Units in popular subject areas which are developed directly under the management and guidance of SQA) and specialist Units (Units devised by an individual centre or small group of centres and validated by SQA to meet a specific need).
As part of SQA's commitment to continuous improvement, we have established a planning tool for the development/revision of all Group Awards.
