Numeracy

Numeracy Skills

Numeracy is the ability to use numbers in order to solve problems by counting, doing calculations, measuring and understanding graphs and charts. It also encompasses the ability to interpret and understand the results. Numeracy skills may be an integral part of learning, useful in everyday life and essential in the workplace.

Numeracy skills are necessary for coping with the demands of everyday life, including work and study. People need to be comfortable with numbers, and with graphs, symbols, diagrams and calculators.

Here are a few suggestions of some of the qualifications that have been identified as focusing directly on these skills.
