Literacy Skills

Literacy is the ability to communicate by reading, by writing and by listening and talking.

Good literacy skills underpin all aspects of learning, work and social life, allowing individuals to engage fully in society and in learning through different forms of language and a range of texts. Under CfE, Literacy is the ability to communicate in English or Gàidhlig by reading, writing, and listening and talking.
