Appointee of the Year

John Grant, a former principal Art and Design teacher at the town’s St Joseph’s Academy, collected the accolade for Appointee of the Year at the 2012 Scottish Qualifications Authority Star Awards.

John, who retired from teaching two years ago but until earlier this year continued to work with SQA as a senior examiner for Higher Art and Design, was rewarded for a career spent dedicated to encouraging and motivated his team to give their best for every candidate.
