Training Organisation Candidate of the Year

Jonathan McPhee from Wick lifted the Star Award for Training Organisation Candidate of the Year.  When he first enrolled with Pulteneytown People’s Project (PPP), Jonathan had no formal qualifications, however, after six months Jonathan had earned a number of SQA certificated courses in Health and Safety at Work, Emergency First Aid, Manual Handling, Power Tool Handling and Fire Awareness.

Shortly afterwards, Jonathan completed North Highland College’s Training for Trades course, then returned to PPP as a volunteer, working with other young people and encouraging them to remain in education and develop their skills and training.

Jonathan also has also put the skills and new found confidence he’s developed to use to the benefit of the community raising money for local charities.

Highly commended in the same category was Cheryl Robertson from GMD Community Services in Glasgow.
