Evaluating Stakeholder Responses

The Qualification Design Team should undertake a systematic analysis of the responses to the consultation. Effectively, the responses should form the basis of the Validation Proposal document, ie the responses will provide a rationale for the Group Award and inform the development/revision of the qualification.

The result of evaluating the responses will be one of the following:

  • the Group Award is no longer required and should lapse
  • the content of the Group Award is fit for purpose with minor amendments (but revision is still required to bring it in line with the 2003 design principles)
  • the content of the Group Award requires updating

If you decide that the content of the Group Award requires updating, ie a major revision, you may wish to do a second stage consultation with selected stakeholders to ensure that responses have been interpreted and incorporated correctly.

In addition to a rationale for the development/revision of the Group Award, the analysis will allow the Qualification Design Team to build a template for the development/revision which should include:

  • working title for the Group Award
  • the general and specific aims of the Group Award
  • the strategy for assessing the principal aims of the Group Award, including the group award Graded Units
  • the Core Skills strategy
  • the suggested mandatory and optional structure
  • the number of Units to be revised and/or developed
  • the working titles for Units
