• Notes on the Revised Format for the HN Unit Specification (Additional Notes for Guidance, Note 2)
• This guide is to help writers to develop HN Unit Specifications using the revised format (Writing Higher National Units)
• Checklist for subject specialists (Centre Tool 10)
• Checklist for technical edit (Centre Tool 11)
• the Validation Checklist which will be used for HN Unit Validation (Centre Tool 12)

The content and assessment of all Units should contribute to the aims of the Group Award - this makes it easier to identify what needs to be assessed in the Graded Unit(s). Centre Tool 17 is designed help the Qualification Design Team map the content of Units to the aims of the Group Award.
