The timeline below shows key developments and the publication timetable for documents to support the new qualifications. Select a year to see the documents released in that year.
Once the general design of the qualifications had been agreed, the Qualification Design Teams (QDTs) created draft Rationales and Summaries documents for each curricular area, setting out the proposed content, aims and purpose of each course. These were used to develop a draft Course Assessment Specifications document for each area.
The draft Course Specifications were used to develop the draft Unit Specifications which were, in turn, used to develop draft Course Assessment Specifications. After seeking feedback on all of these documents the QDTs published the final versions on the SQA website. (Final documents for Advanced Higher due 30 April 2013.)
