Built Environment Design

The Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Levels 4 and 3 in Built Environment Design at have been designed in partnership with CITB Sector Skills Council to ensure relevance to the sector. They are also jointly awarded with the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).

These qualifications allow learners to demonstrate competence in job-related skills in their particular area of work and expertise.

The SVQ level 3 covers areas such as producing and recommending detailed design solutions and maintaining professional relationships and practice. The SVQ level 4 covers areas such as developing design team programmes and working methods, developing and advising on design recommendations in built environment design, developing and agreeing detailed designs, and developing and maintaining professional relationships and practice.

These qualifications are available through employers and training providers.
