SQA Field to Table

Scotland's global reputation for quality and craftsmanship plays a central role in our Food and Drink production. Premium produce including whisky and seafood are internationally revered, and are central to maintaining Scotland's high profile abroad.

Generating annual sales of around £7.5 billion, the industry directly employs over 45,000 people, with a further 75,000 people indirectly working in supply chain roles. So it's no surprise that this is one of the Scottish Government's key sectors.

SQA's Food and Drink qualifications focus on workforce skills and knowledge in the areas that count. Areas like Food and Drink Manufacture, Bakery, and Health and Food Technology. All of our qualifications are quality-assured, industry-specific, and provide the skills needed for success.

Claire Simpson, Administrator, Scottish Meat Training

QuoteI have found SQA to be very approachable. Each time I have a query it has been acted on efficiently and quickly. Employers that we work with in the meat industry recognise the SVQ awards and are happy for us to deliver these qualifications.

SQA registration and certification is very easy to do and very reliable. There is no guessing when registrations will be approved or certification completed as it is done on a very regular basis.Quote
