Advanced Higher - Question Paper Reviewer

We are now recruiting Question Paper Reviewers for the new Advanced Higher qualifications. Please follow the link to the list of subjects requiring Question Paper Reviewers. Advanced Higher - Item Bank Leader Opportunities

Are your ready to put your experience as an appointee to good use and progress through the appointee structure. This is a challenging role but one which will bring many personal and professional benefits.

We currently have opportunities for an Item Bank Leader for the new Advanced Higher qualifications in: Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics

(Please note that the IBL in Chemistry may oversee the Item Bank at Higher and National 5)

An Item Bank Leader is responsible for the management of the Item Bank to ensure sufficient items/questions are available to produce question papers, monitor the production and checking of items/questions, and the supporting marking instructions under the direction of the Principal Assessor. The Item Bank Leader role profile provides details of the contract specification, selection criteria and key performance measures. Additional support and training, if required, will be provided to support the successful applicant.

The Item Bank Leader role will require a combination of release and duties in own time. We anticipate a release requirement of up to 5 days per year.

An application form for the Item Bank Leader role is available for download and must be submitted with the Item Bank Leader Reference/Release form as release permission is required prior to interview. All applications will be acknowledged and interviews will be held during January 2015.

National 5 Opportunities

Principal Assessor – National 5 Environmental Science

We are currently inviting applications for the role of Principal Assessor for National 5 Environmental Science.

The Principal Assessor role profile provides full details of the contract specification, the selection criteria and key performance measures for the role. Applicants should use this information to assist with the their application.

The Principal Assessors will require approximately 8 days release per year. Duties in own time will also be required. An application form for Principal Assessor is available for download and must be submitted with the Principal Assessor Reference/Release form.

Markers

Marker Opportunities

Thank you for all the Marker applications we have received this year for the 2015 Examinations. We couldn't achieve a successful marking period without your support.

We are now encouraging marker applications from new Markers who would like to join a marking team for 2016.

The Marker role profile provides details of the contract specification, selection criteria and key performance measures. Please make reference to this information in your application.

All applications will be acknowledged. Please note that there is no closing date and applications which meet the selection criteria will be accepted on a first come first served basis. There after applications will be placed on the reserve marker list for future opportunities in marking.

Quality Assurance - Verification Opportunities

Principal Verifier in Photography

We have a new opportunity for a Principal Verifier in Photography. The appointment will begin in August 2015.

SQA recognises the pivotal role that the Principal Verifier will play in continuing the successful new Quality Assurance arrangements of the National Qualifications in Photography. Previous experience of the new Quality Assurance arrangements in a leadership role will be extremely beneficial to the applicant.

An application form is available for download and must be submitted with a completed Reference/Release form. Principal Verifiers will normally require 10 days release and will also be required to undertake duties in their own time.

Interviews for successful applicants will be held later in July in our Optima office in Glasgow. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application.
