Modern Apprentices honoured at awards ceremony

Last week, SQA supported Skills Development Scotland’s annual Modern Apprenticeship of the Year awards, which were held at the Glasgow Science Centre.

Jurgen Joubert, a trainee butcher from Shetland, was named Scotland’s Apprentice of the Year, and also collected the award for Level Three Apprentice of the Year.

Speaking about Jurgen’s win, SDS Chief Executive Damien Yeates: "Jurgens' achievement shows the drive and determination to succeed that apprentices bring to the workplace and how employer commitment to Modern Apprenticeships is vital to help develop our workforces of the future."

More information about the awards, including videos of each of the winners, can be found on the SDS website.
