Scotland's Skilled Future: An SQA, SCQF and CIPD Scotland event for employers
31 July 2015
Approximately 30 per cent of school leavers are about to move directly into employment or training, and the qualifications on their CVs will now include National 3, National 4, National 5 and the new Higher.
We will be taking part in a joint event with CIPD Scotland and the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Partnership, where we will look at skills development and qualifications in Scottish secondary schools, including the recent changes to National Qualifications.
The event is aimed at employers and will be held at the University of Abertay, Dundee on Wednesday 26 August.
John McGurk, Head of CIPD Scotland, will set the scene to this useful and interactive session by explaining how a joined-up skills and learning agenda is an imperative for Scotland.
At SQA, we understand that recruiting young people with essential skills for life and work is important in helping organisations to thrive. We will be there to explain the recent changes to National Qualifications and answer any questions you may have.
The Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) Partnership will be there to explain more about the SCQF - Scotland's lifelong learning framework - and how it can help you to understand how qualifications compare to one another and how different types of qualifications can contribute the the development of your workforce.
The event is open to both CIPD members and non-members, and attendance is free. Click here to find out more and to book your place.
