Training Organisation Candidate of the Year

presented by John McMorris, SQA

Amanda Bowden, Treasure Island Nursery, Castle Douglas

Amanda Bowden, who works at Treasure Island nursery in Castle Douglas, was named the Training Organisation Candidate of the Year. Amanda originally joined Treasure Island in 2012 as the nursery cook before deciding to re-train and switch career.

The judges were impressed with Amanda’s commitment to the children in her care and her determination to complete her SQA SVQ in childcare despite anxieties about studying for a qualification later in life. Amanda was also named the individual Pride o’ Worth winner.
