SQA is delighted to join many other public bodies in Scotland to become a national corporate parent under the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014.
As a corporate parent, SQA has a legal and moral duty to provide children who are looked after with the kind of support that any good parent would give their own children to ensure that all aspects of their development are nurtured. SQA is committed to meeting its corporate parenting responsibilities and improving outcomes for looked after children and care-experienced young people.
Our Corporate Parenting Plan (267 KB) sets the framework within which we will work to improve the lives of Scotland’s looked after children.
