Annual Review 2016

SQA’s Annual Review for 2015-16 complements the Annual Report and Accounts by providing a more visual presentation of SQA’s activities during the year. It highlights the main services, projects and initiatives that were delivered by our staff and the wider community of professionals who worked with SQA in 2015-16.

Achievements range from the introduction of the new Advanced Higher to the successful delivery of the Key Stage 2 Item Validation Trial for the Department for Education, Standards and Testing Agency.

Also during the year we:

  • implemented SQA’s Change Programme to ensure our processes and procedures are robust and flexible
  • further developed our Understanding Standards programme to provide ongoing support to schools, colleges and teaching staff across Scotland
  • made improvements to our website to make it more accessible, and
  • extended our commitments to corporate social responsibility

SQA had many successes in 2015-16 because of the commitment of staff, appointees and partners, and the many important contributions from our users, customers and stakeholders.

We hope you find this Annual Review informative, relevant and useful.
