We are committed to ensuring that all SQA's people from our Modern Apprentices to the18,000 teaching professionals who work as appointees, are fully equipped for the roles they undertake to support our activities.
Corporate social responsibility at SQA
Every year SQA staff work with schools and charities, providing support through fundraising and volunteering. Staff are also encouraged to take part in projects to help reduce SQA’s environmental impact.
Equality at SQA
SQA commits to equality of opportunity and to a culture that respects difference. We believe that, as an employer and public body, we have an important part to play in the promotion of equality and diversity.
We recognise that equality of access to education is crucial in unlocking many significant opportunities in life and that we have a responsibility to uphold fairness for learners.
Some of our aims and activities, to date, can be found in SQA’s Equality Mainstreaming Report. We are currently reviewing our equality strategy and outcomes, and these will be published in April 2017.
