Delivering Wider Achievement

Schools, colleges and training providers are recognising Wider Achievement in creative ways, sometimes by delivering a combination of Awards and other qualifications.

For example, one school is delivering NPA in Enterprise and Employability alongside a Skills for Work Course, while another is timetabling the NPA Dance and Leadership Award together.

In addition, some qualifications have Units in common. For example, the NPA in Enterprise and Employability, and the Personal Development Award, share two Units which helps an integrated approach to delivery. These qualifications offer many other benefits to schools and other centres:

Schools

Flexible delivery and assessment methods are built in. This means the evidence required for the qualifications can be gathered in a range of different ways eg electronically, through performance or the creation of a product.
Assessment support materials are provided for most Awards.
There are opportunities to link to Core Skills.

Other centres

Flexible delivery and assessment methods are built in. This means the evidence required for the qualifications can be gathered in a range of different ways eg electronically, through performance or the creation of a product.
Assessment support materials are provided for most Awards.
Some Awards can be offered as part of SDS employability fund contracts (subject to meeting SDS criteria)
Centres only need to enter Units as they are being delivered. There are no additional costs for learners who achieve an Award.

SQA partnerships
