West College Scotland were celebrating after winning the Outstanding Employer Engagement in Colleges category at the third annual Herald Higher Education Awards, whilst Robert Gordon University were delighted to be winners in the Outstanding Employer Engagement in Universities category. The awards, which SQA support, recognise the great work taking place in Scotland’s colleges and universities.

The winner of each of the 15 categories was announced at a glittering gala dinner at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow. Along with the other winners, West College Scotland and Robert Gordon University have taken an innovative approach to teaching, which has enhanced their students’ learning experience.

The finalists in the College and University Outstanding Employer Engagement categories have each formed a superb partnership with a business. Together, they have developed training processes which aid student employability, as well as student work experience opportunities.

West College Scotland picked up the Outstanding Employer Engagement in Colleges trophy, through their excellent Designers of Tomorrow scheme, developed in partnerships with Neat Living. Also nominated in this category were City of Glasgow College, Edinburgh College and West Lothian College.
