Minor Review

A minor review has taken place for National Qualification Courses and Units in Philosophy at Intermediate 2 and Higher levels for implementation in August 2010.

A summary of the changes at Higher level include:

  • Critical Thinking – a more detailed Appendix clarifying what is required to be delivered with clearer Evidence Requirements
  • Epistemology – minor amendments to content
  • Metaphysics – Agnosticism has been removed and the Ontological Argument has been added. Clarification on what is required to be delivered on Freewill
  • Moral Philosophy – Outcome 4 has been removed (the Emotivist position)

Update

Centres are to be reminded that the Philosophy National Course (C073 13) is no longer available at Advanced Higher level. However, the following associated Units can still be delivered:

  • D425 13    Epistemology
  • D426 13    Philosophy of Mind
  • D427 13    Social Philosophy
  • D428 13    Logic 2
