You will also notice that when you scale a bitmap up that the edges of objects look more jagged. You can see this with the edge of the building in the images on the previous page. This is know as aliasing or otherwise more fondly known as the 'jaggies'. To get rid of this anti-aliasing can be applied in the graphics package. The graphic below has had anti-aliasing applied.
