Dot Matrix Printer

This is a type of printer which creates characters by using a series of pins that hit against an inked ribbon to create an image on paper. Dot matrix printers are generally at the cheapest end of the printer market and are not really used much anymore. However, dot matrix printers are still used for the printing of multi-part invoices that do not really need the print quality offered by the other types of printer.
