Other Internet Services

There are two other ways of accessing information on the Internet:

TELNET

TELNET is a terminal emulation protocol which allows an authorised user to log onto a remote computer over the Internet and use it as if it were attached locally. The local computer essentially acts as a dumb terminal to the remote host computer during the Telnet session, using the processing power of the remote computer.

FTP File Transfer Protocol

FTP allows you to access a remote FTP site and browse the directories of the site and either download files directly to your computer or upload files from your computer.
