A satellite Internet connection is an arrangement in which the outgoing and the incoming data are sent from, and arrive at, a computer through a satellite. To transmit and receive data you must have connected a satellite dish and transmitter/receiver to your computer. Upload speeds are nominally 50 to 150Kbps if using a single computer and download speeds ranging from about 150Kbps to more than 1.2Mbps. This method is expensive as you are required to buy connection time to the satellite but it is ideal for remote locations where all you need is enough power to run the computer and the transmitter/receiver.
