Improved SOLAR to launch in December 2018.

We will be introducing a new and updated version of the SQA e-assessment system SOLAR on Monday 17th December.

We are making this change to ensure that our services continue to be as flexible and easily accessible as possible. The user interface and system will be significantly enhanced.

This change requires a full system shut down, SOLAR will be unavailable from 5:00 pm on Friday 7th December until 9:00 am on Monday 17th December.
 

Guidance for SOLAR users

We will send you an e-mail before the new system goes live, prompting you to change your password. Once you have done this, you will be able to login and access SOLAR. Your SOLAR username will remain the same. *(Please check your email address in the current system under the 'My Profile' tab.)

We advise not to create any new assessments after Saturday 1st December, although existing assessments already created can be used up until the close on 7th December.

  • No current keycodes will work in the updated system.
  • Once the new system goes live, your centre will need to re-schedule any existing assessments from 7th December and update keycodes.
  • The scheduling process in the new system will remain as standard.

When the new system goes live, SecureClient will still be available to deliver assessments off-line. However, you will need to install an updated version of SecureClient in advance of delivery. More details of this will be available on the SOLAR website.

We will provide more information about this and all other changes including links to support materials, before the updated system goes live.
