SQA Advanced Qualifications updates

Accounting
Using Financial Accounting Software (HR10 47) has been updated in relation to fixed asset register and data back up to accommodate use of cloud-based accounting packages.
In the SQA Advanced Certificate in Accounting (GM96 47) and SQA Advanced Diploma in Accounting (GM8G 48), the information on Professional Bodies has been updated throughout to include ICAEW.
Hospitality
In the SQA Advanced Certificate in Hospitality Operations (GR3J 47) and SQA Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management (GR3H 48), credit transfer information has been added to pages 32 and 33 and a new appendix 1 has been included to provide additional mapping information.
In Managing Human Resources in Hospitality (J47K 48), Outcome 3 has been revised to provide flexibility, and the requirement for closed book assessment has been removed. The Assessment Guidance revised to reflect this.
Professional Cookery
In the SQA Advanced Certificate in Professional Cookery (GR3L 47) and the SQA Advanced Diploma in Professional Cookery with Management (GR3M 48), credit transfer guidance has been added to pages 29-31 and appendix 1 included to provide additional mapping information for the old and new cookery units.
We have made the following updates to Professional Cookery: Kitchen Operations (J47V 47):
- Outcome 1: The evidence requirement relating to risk assessment has been re-worded for clarification. The number of hazards to be identified has been reduced from 6 to 3.
- Outcome 3: The evidence requirement relating to work plans has been revised to “cover all areas of the kitchen or agreed section in a “Partie” system” to provide flexibility.
- Outcome 4: Title has been changed to “Undertake stock control procedures and calculate sales values”. The evidence requirement relating to calculation of net profit has been changed to calculation of sales values.
Assessment Support Packs
A revised assessment support pack for Mathematics for Construction (HR4N 46) is now available on the secure site.
You can request access to assessment support packs by contacting the SQA co-ordinator in your centre. Once you receive them, you must store them securely and treat them as confidential.
