NextGen: HN pilot centre expansion 2022 - 2023

Our Next Generation Higher National (NextGen: HN) pilot centre activity is expanding during session 2022-23.  We currently have two colleges piloting NextGen: HN this session, and will have a growing community of 13 centres piloting from August 2022:

Subjects being piloted across these centres include; Accounting, Agricultural Technology, Agriculture, Childhood Practice, Computing, Physical Activity and Health, Social Sciences, Social Services, Engineering, Horticulture, Television and Radio.

We launched a programme of support for our pilot centres with a ‘First Steps’ webinar in March, where we shared key updates about subject developments and project activity.  This will be followed by a ‘Change Impact Assessment’ session facilitated by SQA – a change management tool which centres can use to explore the impact of changes that NextGen: HN will bring across the organisation. We will then run a ‘Next Steps’ webinar in June, focussing on the practical information centres will need to start pilot delivery in August.

We will be offering on-going support throughout pilot delivery such as regular ‘keep in touch’ meetings, regular evaluation sessions and our new model of quality assurance.

We are looking forward to welcoming our expanding community of pilot centres and learners to the NextGen: HN project.
