Examination Exceptional Circumstances Consideration Service 2022
The Examination Exceptional Circumstances Consideration Service (EECCS) for 2022 is now open, and full guidance is available to SQA co-ordinators on SQA Connect. The guidance reflects the latest public health guidance from the Scottish Government, which confirms the changes that came into effect on 1 May.
The closing date for EECCS requests is 10 days after the exam for which the request is being made.
As a reminder, learners are eligible for EECCS if:
- they have experienced a valid exam exceptional circumstance
- they have completed all the compulsory non-question paper components
- an estimate has been submitted for them
- alternative evidence is available
The service is not available to learners who complete the exam, even if they feel they have underperformed due to a personal circumstance beyond their control. In this situation, a learner will be eligible for the 2022 appeals service.
