Project & Pilot Updates
During May a series of internal and external governance meetings confirmed that minimum viable product qualifications developed over 2021-22 are ready for the next stage in development. In 2022-23 we will also pilot HNCs in Accounting, Agriculture, Agricultural Technology, Childhood Practice, Computing, Engineering, Horticulture, Physical Activity and Health, Social Science and Social Services as well as HNDs in Television and Radio.
In our Digital and Learning for Sustainability work, pilot centres are involved in testing Stellar, a digital tool for the summative assessment of creative project work, where learners can receive instant feedback mapped to the Skills Development Scotland meta-skills framework.
We are also working on new areas for pilot centres to access digital versions of the prototype Units while we are developing a resource-packed Learning for Sustainability hub.
We were also delighted to see our pilot centres promoting NextGen: HN qualifications recently at the following events:
UHI - NextGen: HNC Horticulture
- Scottish Garden Show, Scone Palace – 3 - 4 June
- Royal Highland Show, Edinburgh – 23 - 26 June
SRUC - NextGen: HNC Agriculture and Agricultural Technology
- Royal Highland Show, Edinburgh – 23 - 26 June
- Agricultural shows in the South West of Scotland
