Toolkit

Earlier this year we published an Assessment Arrangements Toolkit to support centres in developing their own practice around AAs. The toolkit includes templates and examples, including a self-evaluation form to support centres in reflecting on their existing practices.

Guidance documents

We have also now published an updated version of Assessment Arrangements Explained: Information for centres on the website. We are currently working on separate guides to AA for learners and parents/carers and will let you know when they are published.

Audits

We are contacting a selection of centres about AA audits. The audits are supportive in nature, helping you understand SQA requirements for Assessment Arrangements and our shared responsibilities under the Equality Act. Please use these visits to discuss your approach to AA and as an opportunity to identify any areas for improvement.

AA Key dates

The Assessment Arrangements Request (AAR) system will open on Monday 24 October. This is where you submit AA requests for timetabled exams. The deadlines for submitting AA requests are outlined in the key dates document on SQA Connect. Please ensure that you submit all requests on AAR by 31 March 2023. Please note that requests for adapted papers or digital papers must be submitted by 31 January.
