Alternative assessment sites and remote assessment guidance

As an SQA centre, it is important for you to understand which SQA qualifications are available to be offered in different countries.

To help with this, we would encourage you to review our recently updated webpage on alternative assessment sites and remote assessment guidance.

This describes the process by which centres need to seek approval for using alternative assessment site arrangements. This applies whether centres are planning to deliver the qualifications in the same country as their base location, or in a different country including a different UK nation.

The webpage also explains which qualifications centres are allowed to offer in countries outside their base country, and sets out the new, simpler process we have introduced for remote assessment, including a new declaration form.

If you have an existing arrangement in place that you have not sought approval for, please complete an application by Wednesday 14 December 2022.
