SQA Advanced Qualifications updates

You can find any of the unit specifications below by using the Unit Search on our website. 

Cookery 

  • In Professional Cookery: Kitchen Operations (J47V 47), outcome 2, we have changed the evidence requirements from the costing of dishes in three menus to one menu. 

  • In Professional Cookery: Pastry Knowledge (J47X 47), we have revised the evidence requirements and ingredients and components tables (tables A and B) for clarification: 

  • Pastry components (Table B) have been updated to reflect components used in the Professional Cookery: Practical Pastry unit. 

  • We have also removed the reference to the publication ‘Patisserie: A Masterclass in Classic and Contemporary Patisserie Hardcover’ from the guidance section. Please see the Hospitality UShare page for suggested publications. 

Computing 

  • We have added Penetration Testing (J0HB 34) as an optional unit to the SQA Advanced Diploma in Computing: Software Development (GM92 48). 

  • We have added Computer Operating Systems (J11W 35) and Network Security Monitoring (J27N 35) as Group 2 optional units to the SQA Advanced Diploma in Computing: Networking (GM8F 48). 

Accounting 

  • In the SQA Advanced Certificate in Accounting (GM96 47) and SQA Advanced Diploma in Accounting (GM8G 48), we have amended Appendix 6 (Professional Accounting Bodies: Accreditation and Exemptions). The AAT exemptions have been updated to reflect the new versions of their bookkeeping and accounting qualifications, Qualifications 2022 (Q2022). 

Business 

  • In the SQA Advanced Certificate in Business (GT2A 47) and SQA Advanced Diploma in Business (GT2C 48), we have corrected the unit title to: Sustainable Resource Management: Materials and Resources (J5FC 47)
