Understanding Standards events: Practical Cake Craft and Practical Cookery

We are holding practical skills days for National 5 Practical Cake Craft and Practical Cookery on Saturday 18 March in Glasgow, from 9 am – 3 pm.

National 5 Practical Cake Craft

This practical skills event is intended for teachers who are new to the subject, or have been delivering these courses for a short time, who would like to develop their cake craft skills. Participants will line and finish a cake during a practical session, which will include modelling work. As well as working alongside college lecturing staff who will deliver the practical session, there will also be a session on preparing candidates for the course assignment.

Practical Cookery

This practical skills event is intended for teachers who are new to the subject, or have been delivering these courses for a short time, who would like to develop their cookery skills. Participants will prepare savoury and sweet dishes during a practical session, using a variety of skills up to National 5 level. As well as working alongside college lecturing staff who will deliver the practical session, there will also be a session on preparing candidates for the course assignment.
