Advanced Higher English - study notes not permitted in Literary Study exam

We have received enquiries from a small number of centres about whether candidates are allowed to take study notes into the Advanced Higher English Literary Study exam on Wednesday 10 May.

Candidates are not allowed to take study notes into the exam.

We had previously allowed candidates to take study notes into the 2022 Literary Study exam as part of our wider package of support for learners in session 2021–22. This was a temporary arrangement for the 2022 exam, in response to the significant disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic at that time. It does not apply to the 2023 exam.
