Readiness Meetings - update

It’s an exciting time for the Next Generation Higher National (NextGen: HN) project as we approach the final stages of pilot for session 2022 – 23 and approach the 2023 – 24 academic session.

NextGen: HN qualifications are initially developed as a prototype before being piloted and evaluated. Our Qualification Design Teams (QDT) have been developing further NextGen: HN prototype qualifications for pilot in session 2023 - 24. QDTs are led by Qualification Managers and supported by Qualification Officers, Subject Implementation Managers and New Product Development Managers. In addition, learners and stakeholders from pilot centres, further and higher education, industry, employer/training providers, professional associations, regulatory bodies, appointees and other stakeholders as appropriate are encompassed within QDT’s.

We recently held NextGen: HN Readiness meetings to ensure the additional prototype qualifications are prepared for pilot delivery. Readiness meetings are designed to ensure that our qualifications are ready to move from development to pilot phase. During the meeting development teams are given the opportunity to revisit the development process. This allows them to demonstrate how the qualification(s) meet the NextGen: HN Design Principles.

The qualifications being piloted in academic session 2023-24 are as follows:

There are 14 pilot centres piloting the prototype NextGen: HN qualifications. We will continue providing support throughout delivery by offering various resources delivered by Qualification Managers, Qualification Officers, Subject Implementation Managers and New Product Development Managers.
