New partnership between SQA and Vancouver Community College confirmed

Vancouver Community College (VCC), the largest public community college in British Columbia, will be offering our industry leading vocational qualifications to learners in Canada.

Mark Hill, Regional Manager for North America, who recently met with staff at the college’s Broadway campus in Vancouver, said: “SQA qualifications enable learners to demonstrate the skills, knowledge and understanding they have acquired at school, college, university, and the workplace. They allow people to take the next steps on the path to their chosen career.”

First among the new SQA qualifications to be made available to VCC students is SQA’s Advanced Diploma in Supply Chain Management.

Mark added: “The SQA Advanced Diploma is a world renowned, international qualification that can provide advanced entry into college degree programmes whilst also providing learners with the relevant skills for their chosen vocation. We envisage a strong, long-standing relationship with VCC."

The SQA Advanced Diploma in Supply Chain Management covers the management and control of all materials and information in the logistics process from the acquisition of raw materials to delivery to the end-user and provides learners with a progression route into employment or further study, including university degree programmes.

Ian Humphreys, Vice President of Administration and International Development from Vancouver Community College said: “One of VCC’s academic priorities is to deliver sustainable programming and student services that align with the college’s institutional values, community, and the labour market demands. This partnership with SQA aims to do exactly that: fast-track students into the labour market while also exposing them to job opportunities in Canada and abroad.

If you would like to find out more on how to deliver this, or other SQA qualifications, please contact your regional manager for further details.
