In February this year, we included a message in SQA News about Artificial Intelligence (AI)-generated responses and identifying plagiarism.
As AI and machine learning technologies continue to develop, SQA is further considering the emerging research and evidence base, including the opportunities and challenges AI may present to qualifications and assessment. We are continuing to monitor further advances in the technology, and we are consulting and engaging across the education community on the potential role of AI in qualifications, learning and assessment. This activity will help guide our approach in the future.
We recognise the importance and pace of these developments, and we are working to produce updated policy and guidance for centres and learners. We will provide centres with guidance on authenticating learners’ work after the summer break.
