History - updated Higher Scottish history specimen question paper
We have updated the Higher Scottish history specimen question paper to reflect the recent changes to the Higher course specification.
In the Higher History course specification, we clarified the description of content for each of the key issues in parts A to E of the Scottish section (pages 21 – 25), to ensure consistency across the five areas of study.
The description of content informs the question stems for both the ‘evaluate the usefulness’ question and the two-source question in the Higher Scottish history question paper. We have updated these questions in the Higher Scottish history specimen question paper, based on the clarified descriptions.
You can access the updated specimen question paper from the ‘Past Papers and Marking Instructions’ tab on our Higher History webpage.
These changes will also be reflected in the 2024 Higher Scottish history question paper.
About the Higher History course specification
We updated the Higher History course specification in April 2023, following feedback gathered from teachers and lecturers through our Higher History survey. This survey took place in December 2022, as part of our regular maintenance of National Courses, to ensure the course specification remains clear, relevant and reflects what you teach.
