Celebrating minority ethnic communities in Scotland

SQA was proud to sponsor the ‘Supporting Inclusive Learning Award’ at last week's SAMEE Recognition and Appreciation Awards.

The SAMEE (Scottish Association of Minority and Ethic Educators) Awards celebrate and applaud the commitment, efforts, progress, achievements and triumphs of unsung heroes across minority ethnic communities in Scotland.

SQA's sponsored category celebrates the achievements of individuals and organisations across minority ethnic communities in creating inclusive learning environments. The winner, Diljit Benning, has provided life changing support to countless young people with visual impairments by adapting and modifying teaching and learning resources to help develop communication skills.

Diljit has worked with many minority ethnic and indigenous Scottish children, and has developed deep connection with young people and their families. SQA passes on huge congratulations to Diljit for her well-deserved win.
