Looking back and planning forward
The start of a new academic year provides a great opportunity to reflect on achievements to date and our aspirations for the year ahead. A huge amount has been achieved in the past year and we've highlighted some of those achievements in this edition of our newsletter. Input from our pilot centres, design teams, advisory groups and critical friends has been key to this success. We are grateful for the continued support and look forward to collaborating with you in the year ahead.
The 2022 - 23 session saw the successful completion of 11 HNC and 2 HND NextGen pilots and we were delighted to celebrate the success of our learners as they embark upon the next stage of their journey.
We expect the 2023 - 24 academic year to be equally productive. NextGen: HNC Acting and Performance, and seven NextGen: HNDs will pilot for the first time and delivery of our existing pilot qualifications continues as planned.
The systems which support these new qualifications must change too, if we are to deliver on this vision. SQA is currently engaged in a procurement process for new systems covering quality assurance, grading, certification and invoicing so that the right technical solutions are in place for 2024 - 2025.
We will update you on our progress in the December issue of the NextGen News and in January 2024 we will issue a communications message detailing our exact plans.
