Digital Technology - new diplomas launched

We have recently launched two new alternative competence-based qualifications in Computing:

• Diploma in Digital Technology at SCQF Level 8
• Diploma in Digital Technology at SCQF Level 6

These refreshed, modernised qualifications are based on work situations developed by Skills Development Scotland, and benefit from closer engagement with employers during the development process.

Diploma in Digital Technology at SCQF Level 8

The following three pathways have replaced the Diploma in Data Analytics (GL30 48) and Diploma in Information Security Professionals (GJ74 48), both at SCQF Level 8:
Diploma in Digital Technology: Cyber Security SCQF Level 8 (GT8Y 48)
Diploma in Digital Technology: Data Analytics SCQF Level 8 (GT90 48)
Diploma in Digital Technology: Software Development SCQF Level 8 (GT91 48)

We have also launched a further three new pathways which will replace the Diploma in Information Technology and Telecommunications Professionals at SCQF Level 8 (GL2T 48), which has been extended and will lapse on 31 October 2023:

Diploma in Digital Technology at SCQF Level 6

Five pathways for the Diploma in Digital Technology at SCQF Level 6 are also now live:
• Diploma in Digital Technology: Cyber Security at SCQF Level 6 (GV2F 46)
• Diploma in Digital Technology: Data Analytics at SCQF Level 6 (GV2G 46)
Diploma in Digital Technology: IT Infrastructure at SCQF Level 6 (GV2D 46)
Diploma in Digital Technology: IT Support at SCQF Level 6 (GV2C 46)
Diploma in Digital Technology: Software Development at SCQF Level 6 (GV2E 46)

These pathways will replace the existing Diplomas in Information Security Professionals (GJ75 46) and in Information Technology and Telecommunications Professionals (GL2R 46) at SCQF Level 6. These will lapse on 31 October 2023.
