Understanding Standards - new events for Computing Science and Chemistry
We have added new events for Advanced Higher Computing Science to our 2023-24 Understanding Standards programme.
We have also added more events for National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher Chemistry.
Advanced Higher Computing Science events
These will take place on the following dates:
- 5 December, Edinburgh
- 7 December, Aberdeen
- 13 December, Glasgow
Each event will focus on the Advanced Higher Computing Science project. Attendees will have the opportunity to work with colleagues to develop their understanding of the requirements of the project and the evidence requirements.
There will also be a session on the assessment of object-oriented programming in the question paper.
Chemistry events
Last week, we announced new Understanding Standards events for National 5 to Advanced Higher Chemistry on 6 November in Glasgow and 11 November in Edinburgh.
We have now added the following additional events to the programme for National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher Chemistry:
- 24 November – Aberdeen
- 25 November – Dundee
These events will focus on the coursework assessments that are returning for Chemistry courses in session 2023-24.

For Chemistry events, each event is split into morning (am) sessions and afternoon (pm) sessions. If you are booking a place, please select one ‘am’ session and one ‘pm’ session from the following:

pm sessions - please choose one:
- National 5 Chemistry (repeat of am session)
- Higher Chemistry (repeat of am session)
- Advanced Higher Chemistry (repeat of am session)
