Advanced Higher Computing Science - updated documents and Understanding Standards events

Advanced Higher Computing Science – updated documents and Understanding Standards events

Following the 2023 exam diet, we have updated the Advanced Higher Computing course specification and coursework assessment task.

We are also hosting Understanding Standards events for teachers and lecturers of Advanced Higher Computing Science in December.

Updated coursework assessment task

We have updated the Advanced Higher Computing Science coursework assessment task to include detailed candidate evidence checklists. These checklists will allow candidates to check that they have provided all the evidence required for their completed project. This will be particularly helpful for the design and implementation stages of the project, as the evidence requirements for these stages are determined by the type of project the candidate has completed.

The updated coursework assessment task is dated September 2023 and is available from the Advanced Higher Computing Science webpage.

Updated course specification

In May We updated the Advanced Higher Computing Science course specification to retain the optional ‘Database design and development’ and ‘Web design and development’ sections in the question paper and to specify the integration required for each section. We also updated ‘Appendix 3 – Entry Relationship Diagrams’ to clarify how we will represent weak and strong entities.

The updated course specification is available from the Advanced Higher Computing Science webpage.
