Dual presentation of learners
Last week, the Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, the Chief Examiner and the Chief Inspector of Education wrote jointly to local authority Directors of Education about ‘Progression into the Senior Phase and the importance of well-informed and accurate presentation decisions’.
This message re-iterated that dual-entering learners at both National 4 and National 5 ‘is not an intended or expected presentation pattern to be applied to whole cohorts of students.’
When submitting entries for your learners, please consider the most appropriate level for their ability and the workload implications associated with each qualification. Dual-entering a learner at both National 4 and National 5 will likely increase workload.
